The UK's first in store letter to your future self writing experience, based in Wymondham, Leicestershire.
Writing a letter to your future self is a chance to slow down, step away from screens and reconnect with the simple, powerful act of putting pen to paper. It invites you to pause, reflect on where you are right now, capture your hopes, dreams and intentions, and speak kindly to the person you are becoming. In a fast, digital world, this is a moment of mindfulness, a quiet check-in with yourself, and a reminder that growth happens gradually. When your letter finds it's way back to you in the future, it becomes a snapshot of who you were, how far you have come and what truly mattered to you in the moment.
How it works
Visit the studio
Visit our studio based at Wymondham Windmill, Leicestershire and pick up your letter writing pack.
Our custom built packs cost £9.95 which includes postage in 1 years time (you can upgrade to 3 and 5 years if you wish).
write your letter
Order a drink and cake from the Wymondham Windmill tea room and take a seat in the studio to start writing your letter. If you'd prefer to take it home and bring it back once written you are welcome to do that also.

seal your letter
Decorate your letter and envelope with the included stickers (or add your own doodles and decorations). Then seal your letter in the supplied envelope.
You can also add a gold or silver wafer seal for extra protection, which you can emboss in store yourself for an extra special touch.
post your letter
Once you are finished with your letter, add your chosen postage date to the back of the envelope (so we know when to send it back to you) and pop it into our special postbox inside the studio.
At the end of each day, all the letters are collected and securely stored until your chosen postage date.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is my letter stored?
All sealed letters are placed into a dedicated locked postbox, then stored securely in a locked cabinet that is inaccessible to the public. Only authorised staff have access. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office and handle all letters in line with UK data protection law.
Do you open the letters?
No. Your letter is yours. Once it’s sealed, it stays sealed. We only handle it to store it safely and to post it back to you on your chosen date.
What if I move house before my chosen delivery date?
Each pack has a unique reference number which is found on the back of the prompt card inside your pack. It's important to keep this card safe after your visit.
If your address changes, you can contact us with your reference number and some other details so that we can identify and update the envelope with your new address label. The letter will then be stored again safely until it's time to post. Please note there is a small admin fee for each address change.
What if I change my mind?
If you’d like your letter returned early or destroyed, just contact us with your reference number. We’ll verify your details and arrange it for you. There is no cost to do this.
What happens if my letter cannot be delivered?
All letters are sent via second class post with Royal Mail. If your letter cannot be delivered, Royal Mail will attempt delivery in line with their standard procedures.
On the rare occasion it gets returned to us, the letter will be securely destroyed after 1 month.
This is why it’s important to let us know if your address changes before your posting date.
When will it be posted to me?
That’s completely up to you. You can choose from 1 year, 3 years or 5 years. The cost of the packs include storage for a year, if you wish to upgrade for longer you can do this in store for an additional fee.
Can this be given as a gift?
Yes, you can purchase a pack as a thoughtful gift. It’s a lovely way to mark a milestone or new chapter. The final letter will however need to be returned to us and placed inside our instore dedicated postbox.
Do I have to write the letter in-store?
No, you are welcome to complete the pack either in store, inside the onsite tea room, or from home, wherever you feel comfortable. We just require the final sealed envelope to be returned to store and placed inside the dedicated postbox when you are finished.
Do I need to book?
If you wish to guarantee availability you are welcome to contact us ahead of your visit, however we welcome walk-ins during our opening times. If our studio is full you can still take the pack and complete it inside the onsite tea room instead.
What should I write?
There are no rules or pressure as the letter is only for yourself. You might write about your hopes, your fears, what life looks like right now, what you’re proud of, or what you need to hear in the future. We include a handy prompt card inside each pack to help guide you if you need help.
Do you post internationally?
We currently only post within the UK however international delivery prices are coming soon.
Update your details
If you need to update your address or request your letter to be sent early or destroyed, please submit the form below so that we can locate it in our storage. Please note there is a £5 admin fee for updating the address. Once we have located it we will email you to confirm the details along with the invoice.
