12 Days of Christmas Calligraphy
December is here and we're on the countdown to the big day! If you're like me and looking for ways to add a handmade touch to your festivities this year then I am excited to announce my new festive series; The Twelve Days of Christmas Calligraphy.
This short series has been designed to inspire you to pick up a pen and get lettering, with daily project tutorials and ideas that help you build confidence and get crafty this Christmas.
Each project is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike, wherever you are in the world. All of the videos and tutorials will be posted on my Instagram, Tikok and my blog here every day. They will also be shared inside my new Happy Letters Club Community.
Members of my community will also benefit from free daily worksheets and downloads to go along with each project, so if you aren't yet a member and want to get your hands on these, you can sign up for free.
If you want to take part, many of the tutorials are able to be done with materials you likely already have, however I have also added a recommended materials list below. Please note, I like to always ensure that learning calligraphy is accessible and affordable, so please don't feel the need to buy everything on this list. If all you have is a pen, pencil and some card/paper then you will be able to take part. The rest are just a list of what else I will be using for those that want to know, but Inside my free community I will be providing ways to adapt my tutorials with the basic materials.

What you'll need
Essential (all you really need to take part)
- Brush Pens (of your choice. I recommend and use Pentel Brush Sign Pens, but if you prefer another brand you can use them!)
- Roll of kraft parcel paper or plain paper
- Plain card in colours of your choice
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Eraser
Recommended (if you have them then these will be an added bonus):
- Sakura Pen Touch Extra Fine Gold
- Posca Pens (ideally black and white as a minimum).
- Ribbon
- Acrylic paints and paintbrush
Optional (for specific projects, but I will give ideas for how to do each project using the essential materials only inside my free community.):
- Fabric Pennant Banner Blank (Hobbycraft)
- Plain Gift Bag
- Blank Bauble (Hobbycraft)
- Wooden Tray/Cutting Board (Hobbycraft)
- Gift to personalise (such as a candle or bottle of bubbly)
- Lightbox
- Finetec Metallic Watercolours or other watercolours
- Fillable Crackers (Hobbycraft)
